  1. * Tips for Watermellon Juice

Make sure to take the seeds out of the watermelon.

If you want to switch it up a little, try other melons, like cantaloupe, honeydew-melon, or anything else you can think of.

If you want your juice extra smooth, then put it into an electric blender for about 3 minutes.

    *Watermelon Juice

    2 cups watermelon chunks, seedless

    2 tablespoons sugar

    1/2 cup cold water

    5 ice cubes

    juice of 1 lime (optional)

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Serve over ice.

    *Watermelon Juice with mint

    2 cups chopped seeded watermelon

    1 cup crushed ice

    2 teaspoons honey

    1/4 teaspoon black pepper

    fresh mint (optional garnish)

Combine watermelon, ice, honey, and black pepper in a blender.

    Blend until smooth.

    Garnish with mint.

    Serve chilled.

    Stir well before serving.

    *Watermellon Juice with red grapes

    1 mug watermellon

    1/2lb reg grapes

    Ice cubes

Combine everything in a blender & make a smooth juice & serve.

    *Watermelon Fresh

    1 mug watermelon (diced)

    4-6 mint leaves

    1 mug natural live yoghurt

1 glug of runny honey (to taste)

This is one of the best thirst quenching smoothie drinks you can get and a delightfully simple recipe. Both watemelon and mint are cooling, fresh ingredients. The scent of mint is invigorating and when combined with the natural unprocessed sugars in the watermelon will help give you an energy lift.

Watermelon also contains lycopene, a compound that has helps fight cancer. Live yoghurt contains friendly bacteria that establish themselves in your gut and combat nasty gut bacteria that cause stomach upsets / food poisoning. Mint helps settle a stomach and aids digestion.

Chill your water melon first so that it has an even greater cooling taste and effect. Remove the watermelon flesh and deseed it. How thorough you are at deseeding will depend on how much time you have / how bothered you are about having bits of seed in your drink. After deseeding cut the flesh into chunks and put in the blender / smoothie maker with all the other ingredients. Whizz till smooth.

If you like you can get the most out of your watermelon by juicing the rind of the watermelon once you have cut out the flesh. Discard the skin before juicing the rind if you are wary of pesticides and bugs. Add the rind juice to the rest of the ingredients before blending.

Whether drinking as a refreshing summer afternoon drink or having it for breakfast this smoothie is sure to give you a lift.

    *Watering Hole

    1 ½ cups watermelon

    1 Pear

    1 cup strawberries

&frac; cup natural live yoghurt OR ½ cup ice

Dice the watermelon (remove some seeds if you have the patience). Wash the pear and cut it in half and them remove the core by making two narrow, lengthways cuts that meet in the middle. Wash the strawberries and remove their tops. Put all ingredients into the smoothie maker or blender and blend all ingredients till smooth.

Strawberries and watermelon are a good source of vitamin C. Watermelon is a source of vitamin B6 which plays a part in the growth of new cells, assisting the immune system and may help prevent skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dandruff.

    ENJOY :-)

  2. Get a watermelon and shove it in the blender (make sure you have a large blender) and then sieve it ;-)

    IS NICE!

    I recommend it :-)

  4. 1 med Sun Moons & Stars (or other Seeded Watermelon), cut into chunks, rind removed

1 tbsp simple syrup or Sugar Shots Organic Turbinado Syrup (optional)

4 Kaffir lime leaves chiffonaded (optional)

        1 pinch of salt (optional)

Essential Equipment: A food mill with a fine mesh strainer.

Position the food mill fitted with the fine mesh strainer over a bowl. (I use a 8c Pyrex measuring cup)

Mill chunks of watermelon and pinches of the kaffir lime until all is pureed. Discard solids. Add sugar and salt to juice and stir (if using).

Chill for at least 30 mins and up to a few hours. Stir well before serving as there are still some solids left and they will tend to settle.

If you want to avoid the tiny white and black flecks (seed particles) you can seed the watermelon before adding it to the food mill.

Using a watermelon with seeds will usually result in better flavored juice. Try to consume the day it’s made – but it probably won’t last long anyways.
