I was wondering if I can give my Robo Dwarf Hamster sunflower seeds as a meal every day. Or is it just a treat? Is it unhealthy?

  1. This is unhealthy. Sunflower seeds are fatty foods. Please don't feed your hamster them.

  2. OF COURSE!!! anything can strawberries, carrots, broccoli, etc...

  3. sunflpower seeds are just a treat they dont provide all the vitamins and minerals that are needed for a healthy  diet for any hamsters

  4. yes you can but it dose need his pellet food also it usually has sun flower seeds in it.  you can go to this web site http://www.hamster-club.com/ i hope it helps you

  5. Of course and you'll be loved for it! It is often not recommended to feed them regularly because of their fat content, but this doesn't really apply to robos. They exercise a LOT so getting fat isn't a huge concern for them. And they also have a lot of control over themselves. If you give them more than is healthy, they'll stash them away instead of gobbling them up regardless. I give them to mine as treats because I appreciate the interaction and how much they love taking them from me. :) Meal worms seems to be the only treat they love more than sunflower seeds.

  6. feed him a good food hamster mix. A lot of sunflower seeds should not be given, as they do not provide the correct amount of calcium needed for a hamster. this page might help http://www.hamster-club.com/feeding.asp
