Question:

Can sushi be refrigerated and eaten the next day?

I buy pre-made sushi at the store but I never finish it. I'm uneasy about refrigerating it and eating it the next day for fear of getting sick. Does anyone know what the "shelf-life" of sushi is so I can hopefully stop wasting so much of it?

  1. I refrigerate my sushi all the time and its fine the next day. I never get sick.

  2. yeah

  3. it's fine,

    but remember sushi is fish.

so, it might be better to not refrigerate.

  4. Yes, wrap it good in plastic wrap so the rice won't dry out.

  5. Sushi is fine the next day, although not as yummy!  Just let it sit out for a few minutes before you eat it so the rice is not all hard...i've done it a million times

  6. It sure can. "Sushi has a maximum shelf life of production plus 3 days."

  7. You need to eat it ASAP. It is not good to refrigerate it. You can also learn to make your own so you can control the portion size.

  8. It it's really good ones (I mean from the trusted place)  of course.

I get mine from Whole Foods, and refrigerate them, and enjoy next day!

  9. Yes it will be safe to eat the next day, just keep covered.

  10. I'm the same as you.

Suspect about eating left over sushi..

I buy mine from a top grade place that freshly prepares on order..but even then,, I still have concerns.

The next  day,, is usually fine..

My hunger  and love for sushi,,takes over any thoughts of possible problems..

As far as the Sashimi.. raw fish.. I make a quick stir fry with it..

Makes for a yummy treat ,, and calms my paranoia
