I accidentally swallowed a large piece of a banana and it hurt really bad the whole way down. Is it possible that it could cause bleeding or other negative effects?

  1. oh gosh,

    id go to the doctor,

it depends it could also be something in your throat damaged,

if you cough up blood id go to doctor.

or you could make it app. and ask about it.

  2. It could, but unlikely.  I have swallowed potato chips the same way, and of course they are more likely to damage the esophagous, and I never haave had any negative results other than the hurting as its going down.

If you are having pain tomorrow call your doctor.
