I got all four wisdom teeth out 13 hours ago and now that the numbness is going away on one side it feels like it pulls on the clot everytime i swallow. Could swallowing dislodge it?

  1. Yes.  If you swallow hard, you may create a negative pressure in your mouth that would help to dislodge or even remove the clot.  It is just if you kinda suck first before swallowing.  A nice gentle swallow with your mouth open would help prevent that from happening.

  2. I think the main risk is using a straw.  I don't think the throat movement can bother the clot, only if you use a sucking motion with your mouth.  Did they pack it with cloth?  make sure to keep it packed.  I got dry socket and I was really sick.  Good luck

  3. You can swallow. Just do not suck with a straw or suck the saliva hard inside your mouth.   Try and not get food down inside the hole. A dry socket causes you to have great pain. If your not in great pain you do not have a dry socket.
