  1. Some UK ISPs have confirmed that they currently reduce speeds for detected P2P (file sharing) traffic, although at present that's all that usually happens. However there is the likelihood that all the major UK providers will soon be joining up voluntarily with a "three-strikes" agreement, whereby users' file sharing activities will be tracked, with those users then receiving warning notices by post, which can escalate to an eventual disconnection.  I'm not clear in my mind, from what I have read so far, as to whether legal action over copyright infringement would also follow, but I doubt it.  This is not the same as other speed capping measures applied for 'heavy' users at certain times, because those measures are not limited to P2P protocols.

  2. most isp's reduce bandwidth at peak times...regardless of what you download from where...

  3. F**K them

They could put my speed to 1.0mbps

    I'd still use Limewire

Limewire makes my life so much easier and doesn't empty my pockets
