Can teachers give their students a pop TEST?

a quiz counts much more than a test so can teachers just randomly give tests without informing the students?

im a student, lighten up. maybe give them a warning first, OR go over and over and over the materials thats on the test a few days before the actual "pop test" students have alot of pressure already.

they can give to test your knowledge whether you read regularly or u just read when they announce a test............
