We all know that this "Sport" is not cheap. If you were sitting in 43rd place right now, would you try to finance the rest of the season. I do not think so.

  1. If a NASCAR driver gives up like that then he doesn't belong in the sport. It isn't ALL about winning it's all about racing too.  Look at Morgan Shepard...every week, week after week he is outof the race before it ends or laps down.  Yet week after week he is still there.  I admire that kind of devotion to his sport and determination to finish his races.  He doesn't have a major sponsor and depends on a lot of fund raising...but he is STILL racing.

  2. no that cant afford to race for the chase but there still the top 35  plus the higher you finish the more money you earn

  3. it's their passion.

it's not completely about the money.

it's what they love to do & they're gonna do whatever it takes to be able to race.

  4. The simple answer is no...teams cannot afford to race for the chase.  But that's why owners put NAPA, LOWES and BUD all over the car.  Sponsors pay for the race, not the teams.  Yes the sport is money driven, but sponsors don't look at the cars as being in 1st place or 2nd place or 43rd place...they look at each race as a 3 hour advertisement.

  5. You have to.  NASCAR is not all about 1 Champion.  There are still twentysome races they could win!!!

Plus, if they stopped racing, they'd be in a hole for the next season.  Point wise and set-up wise.  You have to practice to stay ahead (get ahead, too) of the game.

Finally, they LOVE racing!!!  They don't want to watch everyone else have fun!
