  1. If you are a teenager going through puberty I agree that it may be a fibroid or fatty "benign" tumor.  These tumors are not life threatening and are caused by hormonal imbalances.  They can be easily treated by your doctor.

I know it is scary having things happen to your body that are not expected, but realize that telling your mom is very important.

The best thing to do is let your mom know and then go to your physician to have it checked out.  It is better to be safe than sorry.

    Good Luck!!

  2. Your chances of having breast cancer are  close to zero; it's mainly a disease of ageing - 80% of those diagnosed are over 50, it's rare in women under 40 and almost unheard of in under 20s.

Most breast lumps, even in women over 50, are not cancerous.

What you describe is almost certainly hormonal.

The American Cancer Society and other cancer organisations recommend that women begin regular breast self-examination at the age of 20.

Just tell your mum you're a bit worried because you've found a lump on your breast; she will probably be able to reassure you.

  3. It is very unlikely for a teenager to get breast cancer from 1975 to 2000: incidence of breast cancer in 15- to 19-year-olds was 1.3 in every 1,000,000. Just tell your mom like you do anything else. It is likely due to normal changes b*****s go through as we grow up.

  4. It could be a cyst or what they call fibrous b*****s which only means that you have a lot of fibers in your breast. And I know that it is scarry telling your MOM but just take a deep breath and let her know. Also the sooner you tell her the sooner you can go get it checked out. And if it is cancer there are alot of treatments out there. I know I've been battling breast cancer myself. I'm on my third round in 12 years.
