Can tests catch blood doping?

True blood doping can't be detected as far as I know. You take out a half pint of your own blood....store it in the freezer and inject it back into your system a few hours before a race. Increase blood means increase in blood flow.

  1. Yes they can, so long if can affect performance.  Normal Medication on sickness also can be considered as doping.  Few cases were found in this meet but much fewer now.


  2. Perhaps more of a comparison between blood tests.  For example samples after an event one day and then after an event (or randomly) a day or two after and then comparing the results.  If your hemoglobin shows an abnormal increase that could definately throw up a flag.  It is my understanding the athletes are tested after each event.
