I mean, if Colin the Baby Whale gave his life for any good perpose it shows institutional intransigence to do nothing with anything?

Perhaps if we focused upon the fact that each year in Australia, large coastal communities have made an absolute fortune out of tourists going on whale watching tours, seeing only dolphins getting another day free, lol usually at the end of your stay at a place like Summer Bay?

Focusing in on what can be done for the future, what lessons can global citizens of the world learn for all living species in all situations as a disaster response. Surely if we are custodians, as we are by ratio of domination to other species except the ants, ouch, slap there goes another one, thank god I am not buddhist, and we can place an economic impreative on protecting our tourism dollars by really caring is that too hard, no matter where it occurs, smelly things there is another one biting, hey does this public library have a pest inspector? Yea, right no one cares, ouch slap, what is wrong with these things they are everywhere lets exterminate the ants and save the whales, does it work that way?

giggling no ants were harmed in the making of this question sad really!

  1. Well, since the last time a baby whale tried to suckle off a ship in a sydney cove is...well...never, then I think it may be a little presumptuous to endeavour to put an emergency plan into place. Death happens, the mother had already passed away, and in the "wild" colin would have died regardless. I do tend to think that perhaps the mother brought him closer to human contact in a last minute bid to gain human intervention..out there I know, but not totally inconceivable. However there really was not anything that could be done for poor dear Colin. May the lovable guy rest in peace.

As for the biting insects and ants...don't let Bindi hear you talking about slapping insects..she would be totally disappointed!
