Why?

Why not?

What do you think of the ruling?

Is it just another attempt by the teachers' unions to get rid of it?

  1. no, it doesn't make it "impossible" I'm doing it right now. In California.

it doesn't even make it illegal, and IMO is unlikely to change much at all.

The Governator has stated that if this is not overturned he will seek legislative changes to protect the practice of homeschooling.

I think the ruling is foolish and a poor way to address the issues of alleged abuse in this specific case.

  2. I think it won't stand because the judge over stepped in a BIG way and there are legal avenues which will blank out what he said.

He should have stuck to the case he was ruling on based on existing laws and not tried to create new ones. The people who would have made use of his ruling have said they won't, that nothing has changed. Big A has said he'll change the law if the ruling stands.

No, I don't think it's the teaching unions, just one pea brained judge pushing his personal beliefs when he shouldn't have. I'm open to any evidence that he is in the pay of the teaching unions but it's usually safest to assume stupidity where judges are concerned ;-)
