Can the Calming Vibrations bouncy seat cause any long-term problems

We got a Fisher Price Think Pink with Calming Vibrations bouncy seat from a relative. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JNP0D0?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=dealtime-baby-20&linkCode=asn

My daughter (2 weeks) loves it. But I turn off the vibrations after about 15 minutes because I don't think it is good for someone (anyone) to sit on a vibrating device for an extended period of time. My fiance thinks that she should be fine to leave it on as long as she wants (which would be constantly). When she is really fussy and keeps waking up from her crib, we will put her in the seat and she will nap peacefully (even with the vibrations turned off).

What do you all think? Would sitting on a vibrating device cause nerve damage or desensitize a child? Or am I just being silly?

  1. No she will be fine. Vibrating baby chairs have been around for a while now and there hasn't been any reports on them doing any damage to babies. You are right to worry though...that is a mother's job!

    Enjoy your new baby.

  2. I don't think it's silly to be a concerned mother!  But, I have not heard of any long term effects from bouncy chairs.  I think she will be just fine.  Just think of the noises and vibrations she was exposed to in-utero.
