"Jihad, in its truest and purest form, the form to which all Muslims aspire, is the determination to do right, to do justice even against your own interests. It is an individual struggle for personal moral behavior. Especially today, it is a struggle that exists on many levels: self-purification and awareness, public service and social justice. On a global scale, it is a struggle involving people of all ages, colors, and creeds."

  1. Unfortunately, i now associate the word JIHAD with killing of random innocent people and commiting crimes and terrorizing countries for no reason by weak willed poor people.

  2. It can certainly be misinterpreted.  Recent events have skewed the meaning toward the negative.  The current perception may not last forever, but it will tend to linger for anyone who was living and breathing when 9/11 occurred.

  3. Those A-rabs try to play it off that jihad is holy war or whatever garbage they say nowadays. But anyperson with an IQ of over 60 knows that their is no religion in the world that would ever promote hatred against another human being. Especially an abrahamic religion.
