  1. i am sure a f-15 can hold both air to air and air to ground missiles, bombs

  2. The F-15 Eagle can be used for both roles, as an air-to-air fighter, or an air-to-ground bomber. It is more suited to air combat, but can be outfitted with other armaments as well. such as ugb's or lasm's

  3. F-15C is an Air Superiority combat aircraft, specifically designed and equipped to intercept and destroy enemy fighters or bombers. It is manned solely by the pilot.

F-15E shares the same basic airframe as the F-15C, but is modified to carry ordinance for air to ground attack, its entire mission is for ground attack and troop support. It carries different radar dedicated for that purpose (laser guided munitions etc.) and carries a crew of two, a pilot and an RIO (back seat, RIO=Radar Intercept Officer).

So to answer your query, certainly, one design of the F15 model is built specifically for that mission.

  4. The F-15 can be used for Air-Ground as long its equiped with the correct payload. Its main role is Air-Air. The A-10, As of now is the best U.S. Air-ground aircraft.

  5. the F-15E can.

  6. As a matter of fact the F-15E "Strike Eagle" is a strike fighter (A strike fighter is a fighter aircraft capable of attacking ground targets)

The other F-15 variants, namely the C/D, were dedicated air combat aircrafts with the informal mantra "not a pound for air to ground".

So if it is an F-15 C/D its mostly A2A, if its F-15E its A2A and A2G.
