Can the GCE 'A' level examinations(not OCR or AQA or Edexcel) be taken privately in the UK?

I want to know if the General Certificate of Education(GCE 'A' level) examinations which are taken internationally be taken in the UK itself (London) if you are a private student(non uk-citizen). The board of examinations of cambridge: www.cie.org.uk

Generally, yes. You will need to pay for it, and will need to take the exam at a recognised local Exam Centre (school, college, 6th form etc.) for fairly obvious exam security reasons - the exams have to be undertaken under VERY strict rules of conduct in order to be validated.

But if you can find a friendly local centre who will accommodate you, there should be little problem.

Check with the exam board about the specifics of what you have been studying, and see what is required for the examination.

Their Customer Services staff are available between 0800 - 1700 UK time, Monday to Thursday

and 0800 - 1600 on Friday. There is an answer phone facility at other times.

The trouble with CIE though, is that there are very few centres that will take private candidates.  Their website lists the following:
