  1. Pressure would be removed from your head.  This pressure shouldn't really change too much in a normal situation, so you will create more Cerebrospinal Fluid to fill the extra space and make the pressure the same as before.  Your brain tissue itself would not grow in size.

  2. Do your intestines expand when your bottom spreads out over two chairs?  Doah.

    Smoke some more weed, babe.....

  3. It can swell up, if this is what you have in mind. In fact, in some case of trauma, surgeons do open up skull to reduce pressure and avoid brain damage. But it is doubtful that opening or enlarging the skull would noticeably increase the volume of a healthy brain, and in any case, that would simply mean it took on extra fluid, not grew extra cells.

If one would try to do this to increase one's intelligence, I'm afraid the only thing they would have shown is how stupid they are...

  4. well, no. actually it shouldn't. it could be terrible. for instance, if the front of your brain increases in size, it can severely alter your personality. if the middle of your brain expands, then it can create an inbalance of hormones released in the body, which is very bad.

as ffor the large part that controles muscle movement and reflexes and such, it simply doesn't need it.

  5. I believe so, but I seriously doubt that it would increase intelligence if that's what you're seeking. : P

  6. Why expand the brain if we only use ~ 10 % of it. Train to use more. Investigate how some people use it better.

  7. peripheral nervous system=cranial nerves and spinal nerves that extend throughout the body= sensory organs;eyes, ears, nose, taste buds and skin. the nervous system is the most complex cell in the body.(think about it.)

  8. Craneostenosis is a disease process in which cranial sutures in the child close earlier. Brain can not grow in size and the child suffers neurological deficit. Surgically increasing the size of the cranium is nearly curative. In an adult increasing the cranial cavity size does not cause increase in brain size.
