  1. IRS doesn't look at your bank account records, but if you owe IRS and don't make an efford to pay the IRS will levy your bank account, meaning they will send a letter to the bank to pull the amount of money from your account.  IRS by the way has sent you letters amount the amount you owe and have sent you the letter about levy.

  2. They need a court order to obtain bank records for purposes of an audit or investigation. However, they do not need a court order to levy the money in a bank account, provided they have given you formal notice of intent to levy.

  3. if the bank sees that you are putting alarge amount in the bank they will be asking questions and then here comes irs

  4. Your banking information is private.  No one, not even the IRS, can access them without a court order or subpoena.

  5. IRS must issue a summons for any bank or other third party records.  If IRS is doing an audit or criminal investigation, you must be notified of the summons and have the opportunity--but little chance for success--to petition US District Court to quash it.

  6. Are you being audited?  If yes, you must give them your bank records...and yes, they can subpoena them from the bank.
