Can the IRS take my childrens social security benefit?

The irs closed out my bank account and took my children's social security benefit and my unemployment. Is this legal?

  1. Levying your bank account is legal.

    Do as we told you in your other post.

    Call the IRS.  They can do a financial analysis and if you truly can't afford to pay anything they can freeze collection activities.

    Not calling the IRS is what got you into this trouble.

YEP, you owe them and you have failed to pay them and they gave you multiple requests for payment and warning they could do this.  Apparently you just ignored everything.  The IRS never gives up.  Talk to them, set up a payment plan and pay them what you owe.  Otherwise they will keep grabbing what you owe from you, particularly EIC and income tax refunds.

    This is called facing the natural consequences of your poor choices and actions.
