  1. The Jets have a first round pick EVERY YEAR. So the punishment would just take 3 years instead, no big deal. There is a clause that would take the next 3 First Round Picks from the Jets if they trade him. That doesn't mean they CAN'T, it means they probably won't. I mean come on do you think the Vikings are going to make value to the Jets for that? That would require giving up 3 First Round picks, and probably more, to compensate what the Jets are losing. Although better value might be a 2nd and 3rd round for each 1st round. That way you don't lose the first round pick to the Packers(sure you'd only lose the one out of the 3 BUT the Jets wouldn't get a first round pick next year).

  2. they can do anyhting they want with him as long as contracts permit. But why would they. I mean honestly Brett Favre one of the greatest if not the greatest quarterback of all time. Who wouldnt want him playing for them. Oh yeh the Packers. There General Manager and coach has lost it.

  3. well im sure they cant do it right away but maybe sometime during the season they can. but we dont know if there is anything in favres contract that would allow it or not.

  4. I've heard that one of the conditions of trading Favre to the Jets was that the Jets had to give the Packers three 1st round draft picks in the upcoming drafts if the Jets trade Favre to Minnesota (or to anyone else in the NFC North for that matter).

I haven't been able to verify that rumor, but I've had more than a few people tell me it was true.

  5. protective clause in the trade agreement will prevent the Vikes from testing those waters.

it's time for all NFL teams to get to work with the players they have on their active rosters, get their playbooks straightened out, and fine tune their on field chemistry

the media circus is over and the pre season is underway

no more drama, no more games, just football

  6. There is a great chance that will happen.

  7. The Jets feel like they just won the lottery.

    They wouldn't do this!

  8. why would they do that. yea i guess they could. actually that would be really funny cuz then the packers would hate the jets forever. haha

  9. To the dude who said something like "that doesn't make sense, the Jets would have to trade their 1st round pick and then make a deal to get 2 more first round picks(to equal the 3 1st round picks) and that's too much to do for one player"...well my friend, you're a ******* IDIOT...It means they would have to give up 3 first round picks in 3 CONSECUTIVE YEARS...not 3 1st rounders in one year you **** up...but no the Jets won't trade him to the Vikings, although I wish they would

  10. No, they can't.

There was a condition in the trade that says that the Jets would have to give the Packers 3 first-round draft picks if they trade Favre to the Vikings.

    Slick move by the Packers...

  11. i'd love to see that LOL

  12. they could but probably won't due to the condition on farve contract(rumors don't know if true)  hmm maby they could do a three way trade were jets send farve to some afc team for like 5 minutes than that team  trade to vikings . but since pennington is going to be released now mabye the vikings will  pick him up  instead going through a hole bunch of loop holes to get farve

ps  your question  was my first thought when Brett got traded

  13. yea they could but they wont

  14. lol i was just thinking that, lol

  15. What if the Vikings traded the Jets say a 2nd round pick for a 7th round pick...and then in turn the Jets were to release Brett Favre in "exchange" for this trade.  Then could Favre go to the Vikings without any fallout from the trade with Green Bay?

  16. They could, but they won't.

  17. Yes they can, but in the trade for Brett Favre, it says that if the Jets were to trade Brett to the Vikings they would have to give up three 1st round picks

  18. Well they can if they want to give up 3 1st rd picks to the packers in fact.why would they seeing they will mostl likely lose a 2nd rd pic in all this so its a better deal.

  19. Actually, 5 Kids down is correct.

    .

If the Jets trade Favre to an NFC ( North) Team, they would have to give up 3 first rd picks. no this doesn't make since because how can you have 3 1st rd picks. Well that would mean the Jets would have to give up their 1 draft pick then somehow make a deal with 2 other teams to acquire their 1st pics to make it a total of 3. So then you ask, couldn't they trade him to another team and they trade Favre. They is very unlikely to happen. The Packers have been them in a situation to where Favre can't be traded at all. He's only way out of the Jets is through retirement.

Why would they go through all of that over 1 player? It doesn't make sense on their part and the whole reason for them getting Favre would have been pointless.

  20. lol

  21. no, the packers made a contract saying that favre conuld not go to minnesota, but they didnt say anything bount pennington

  22. If they want to give up three 1st round picks to the Packers, yeah.
