  1. Yes it can. And the best thing is it won't violate the warranty.

  2. GB's? You could always wait & see how this goes : http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/news/219641...

    =D

  3. yes.....you can put as much as you can as long is the same kind of HD that the PS3 came with....

  4. yes you can install a 500Gb hard drive into the PS3. Just make sure it doesn't exceed the proper dimensions of the current HD, as some are taller than others and will not fit.

On a side note the 5400 vs. 7500 rpm debate is ongoing. Some have reported that it doesn't create any more heat over the current 5400 drives.

  5. The PS3 can take almost any 2.4 inch 5400rpm SATA laptop hard drive. Technically it could take a hard drive that size, but I don't think laptop hard drives are made that large.

As long as the hard drive meets those specs it should fit. Find a hard drive you might want and do some research on it to make sure it fits. If you can't find any info on it, just get it from somewhere with a return policy.

A good place for electronics online is http://www.newegg.com , although I'm not sure about there return policy.

  6. The size is only limited to the size HDD that you buy. It can be any size but it must be the correct kind of HDD (i'm guessing you know about that stuff) But just FYI don't buy HDD's that haven't go a speed of 5400 RPM as a higher RPM=More heat and you don't want that.

    Hope this helps

  7. yes. you can have as much space as you want, but you have to have the right sized hard drive. it says what size of hard drive you need in the safety and support manual that came with your playstation
