My partner and I had a minor domestic at home and the Police were called. The Officer asked if I wanted him cautioned. I said I didnt want to do anything that would jeopardise his job and that would appear on a CRB - the Officer said it wouldnt affect any job application. My partner was taken to the station and was cautioned. He also asked whether it would go down on his record and the Officer said, no. Well, you guessed it - it has gone down on his CRB!

  1. Police can do anything.

  2. Just forget about it. In a few months it will be forgotten any. Its not like its for life so don't mention it. If it comes up, pretend it never happened and make sure it never happens again.

  3. do you mean he hit you or assulted you? you cant be cautioned for yelling

  4. You do not make sense here.  Was your partner arrested???  The police don't ask victims if they want a person cautioned - we put cautions on CQH's because of the type of crime committed, statements made by the arrestee or observations of the officer.

CRB checks by employers do not get caution information - this is law enforcement communication - for officer safety - not for the general public.
