Giving awards to dead people is not a problem here in the US. Can the Queen Knight a dead person?

  1. No I don't think so. She can award military awards posthumously but I think the whole point of getting a Knighthood is that you physically go there and she taps you on the shoulder with her sword etc.

    These days VCs (The highest award in the armed services) is nearly always postumous

  4. No, you need to be alive to be awarded a Knighthood or Damehood, however, certain medals can be and are awarded posthumously.
