  1. A really complex question. The American military is arguable more advanced (though that is slowly changing) and has greatly rapid mobility (ie: to fight farther away from home). It also has arguable greatly discipline and a stronger NCO core. America has a stronger economy, but it is currently in something nearing a recession.

The Russian military is larger and while not as high tech, is still quite effective. Numbers can make up the difference is quality (re: Stalingrad). Russia has a weaker economy, but it is rising. They also have large oil and gas reserves (they export oil to most of Europe). Also, Russia is HUGE. The amount of ground any invading force would need to cover is beyond immense.

Could the US successfully invade Russia? No, they simply don't have the manpower. Could Russian invade the US? No, they couldn't sustain a war economically, or get enough boots on the ground in a reasonable period of time.

But this is all irrelevant, as any war between the two would end in a ceasefire or nuclear war. The US has enough nukes to annihilate all life on earth, and is very good at aiming them. Russia has even more nukes, and some larger ones, but has slightly worse aim. Not that it would matter.

  2. Do we have some russian readers? Russia is a force to be reckoned with, lets hope we dont go there. USA is Very powerful, but a man with a big stick wont stop a smart man with a tooth pick.

(smart man runs circles around man with big stick, repeatedly stabbing him with his tooth pick)

  3. we r more advanced then Russia. they could try...

  4. No the U.S. would cream them in 2 days. EDIT: WHO ARE THE UNPATRIOTIC SLOBS WHO THUMBED ME DOWN???

  5. no,not really.there equipment is so out dated  it hardly works.those tanks you see rolling on the streets.well we had 10 abrams tanks and wiped out a whole brigade in like 7 minutes.those are the c**p the iraqi's had.

  6. I think we would get a run for our money without nukes.  Watch some videos on how they train.  Their special forces are Crazy.  Spetsnaz.

  7. Welcome to nuclear war.

  8. During the period of the cold war the Soviet Union was never in a position to carry on a conventional war for longer than thirty days. Their strategy was to blitzkrieg Europe in thirty days and hope the U.S. would let them keep it rather than risk a nuclear war.

I don't see where the Russian military has improved that much. A war involves much more than a military. It requires an economy that can replace equipment lost in battle quickly, an agriculture base that can feed the army and the civilian population, a logistics system that can get supplies where there needed when their needed.

The Russians would put up a tough fight at first, but we'd have them in the long run.

  9. At the present rate of the military vs. the politicians/and those who want the personnel to return, including those few who are claiming they have been cheated by Uncle Sam because they are still over there or those who are refusing assignment back by order of the military, we are going to lose.

  10. if Iraqis could..

  11. The Russian military are fairly powerful and although they do not have the technology we have such as predators, some of their troops are trained under harsher conditions and because they also have access similar to U.S intelligence (KGB) they are a formidable country.

Their army may have older tanks and jets, but it is made up for in manpower and intelligence.

The two countries are too evenly matched and a war would basically hurt both economically and physically.

  12. Yes, they have a very strong Military.  Would the U.S Military win, I don't know.  Right now they are too focussed on this illegal war, so I would say no.  The russians seem to have an upper hand now.  Welcome to world war three.

    Support peace,. not war.

  13. They can but they would not win.

  14. in the nuclear war - there will probably be a draw

    without nukes - no

  15. nope

  16. Yes

All we see on tv is what congress wants us to see. Russia had advanced rockets systems at par with US. Remember, after USSR collapse, US bought some tech from Russia only to keep it from getting into Chinese or other hands.

Even under control under the Geneva Convention, Germany has some mean hardware that would give the US a run for their money. Even the French daisies have some impressive hardware.

As for the notion of Russian tanks in Iraq, it was left overs like the F14 we gave Iran and Colombia - left overs.

The fact that we are considering ammo for the M16 when even MX has the 7.62 German Nato vesion ought to be an indicator where we are.

we can go on and on and on - lets just skip it and for all the nay sayers - lets find out...

  17. No
