Can the Tampa Bay Rays maintain 1st place in the AL East?

They seem to be doing a good job so far. What do you think will happen with the Rays in the coming weeks? Will the Yanks or the Red Sox overtake them?

Right now they are 3 games over Boston and 4 games over NYY.

I think they will if not it will be a close race for the division and wild card

I do think they will be contending for a playoff spot all the way to the end.  Whether they make it or not is a wait and see.

But at the moment, they will be entering  August as the first place team in the AL East and tied for the second best record in all of MLB.

It has been a fun ride.

u know i think the 1st guys just a total idiot, but i think they can hold this up, im not saying 1st place but i think we can get the wildcard that would be so exciting goin to a playoff game at the trop

They continually go under estimated, and many await for their collapse. Not going to happen. They are quite a solid team. Exceptional SP, timely hitting, good defense. Their Team ERA has been consistently ranked inside top 6 all season.

Also with all the drama in Boston, which no one can deny is throwing the club off a bit, and the inconsistent Yankees( mostly their pitching.....though I want them to make playoffs), I dont see why the rays cant stay atop The AL East. They have proved to be the most consistent team ( excluding Angels), and are over their mini slump prior to the break. Unless their pitching staff gets injured, I dont see any major collapse coming. This team made a fan out of me mid to late last season when I noticed the team they were putting together, and the slow turnaround before seasons end. Its just they are in same division as my Yanks, but oh well.
