  1. Can it!? Yes. The government can do pretty much whatever it wants.

    Should it!? No. We already have so much excess energy production we operate over 100 federal dams at 1% output. If they were operated at their rated power, the price of electricity would drop to 1/20th of it's current price.

    We wouldn't want that, would we? There is no energy shortage. Just a whole lot of generators idleing to protect the power companies profit margins. I know. I've walked those dams.


  2. No - It's better if private citizens buy the property and develop thermal energy if it's available.
