Can the batteries in an older blackberry be used in a blackberry 8800.?

the portal of my blackberry 88 is broken and I can not charge the battery. I don't have the $250 to get the portal repaired. If the battery are enterchangeable, I can charge on the older model.

Blackberry batteries are not interchangeable by design. However you can purchase this external battery charger made by Blackberry that charges most of the recent Berry models batteries.
