Can the cold or flu effect or affect my ovulation process?

I have been ttc now for 5 yrs i got pregnant early this yr but add a m/c.so now it been 4 months since am ttc with the ovulation kit i got 3 positive the first 3 months and now its the 4th month and i got a negitive regsult but then i got the cold or flu right be4 i ovulate and during my ovulation days so my question is can sickness have an effect on ovulaton?

  1. I would say yes, because your body is under stress trying to fight off the infection.


  2. I'm sorry to hear about your m/c.

    Anything that affects your health and immune system can affect ovulation.  Your body naturally does not want to get pregnant when it is under diress or stress.  You probably didn't ovulate, and it's probably because your immune system and body told your ovaries "Hey, I'm sick! Do not want to get pregnant right now, shut er down for the week!"

    Heh.  So yes, sickness can affect ovulation.

    You also (fertile women who ovulate normally) will not ovulate if you're starving, dieting too much, have too low a concentration of body fat in your body, under a lot of stress,  or of course pregnant.
