Can the doctor tell my parents?

I'm 16, so not legally an adult. if i told my doctor about my anorexia and asked him to not tell my parents would he legally not be able to tell them or would he legally have to tell them?

I'm pretty sure he'd have to tell them because that is a disorder that could be life-threatening. In cases like those they have to warn the parents of the problem so it doesn't get that far.

sweetie, if you want to get better you're going to need the support of your parents.  I honestly don't know if your dr. can tell or not but I wish you would tell anyway.
