  1. yes, the fans can fire Thompson if there is a strong amount of opposiiton towards TT.  polls were taken at Lambeau rallies the past month, and it appears that the fans are split approximately 50/50 over the Favre situation.  That is not enough to give TT the boot.  If there is strong enough support to get rid of TT, it is relayed to GB President (I believe his name is Bob Harlen), who will take care of business.  Remember, if you are a stockholder for GB, you are welcome to have meetings with the GB upper management, you just dont get a salary.

  2. If the Packers suck this year, Thompson will likely be gone.  I think the fans/stockholders will give him one year to prove he was right.

  3. no, they cant even have the QB they want

  4. I WISH!!!

  5. Yes and they will if the Packers have a severe falloff without Brett Favre.

  6. The fans cannot directly fire the GM.  The new President (Mark Murphy) would have to lower that boom on Ted.

However, based on loyalty, it is highly unlikely that the current Packer president, Mark Murphy, would ever fire Ted Thompson.

Former long time Packer president, Bob Harlan, hand picked Mark Murphy as his replacement.  However, prior to Murphy's arrival, Ted Thompson was already working here and had a good enough relationship with Harlan, that if memory serves me correctly, Ted Thompson was part of the interview process (one of the people Harlan wanted approval for hiring as his own replacement)...

Therefore, current president, Mark Murphy, in part owes his job to his subordinate, Ted Thompson, and Murphy will not forget that..

So don't hold your breath to see Murphy fire Thompson ---who helped him get out of Illinois and in the Packer offices.

The other bad thing if you want Thompson gone is that Murphy, the current Packer president, was not --nor ever was -- a Packer fan on his own.

Therefore, it is highly unlikely that Murphy will feel the frustration that the native fans feel in the future, as many of them currently do -- since Favre was let go -- "in the wrong mind-set" to be allowed by McCarthy to compete for the starting quarterback job here in 2008, despite having proven to be a winner on the field and having the mind-set to start 275 consecutive games for the Packers -- which is every single game that happened since 1992.

So, if Thompson doesn't step in with that, nor Murphy, nor McCarthy, you can see they are all bed-buddies... they are all incahoots --- all lining each other's pockets and job security...and hiring Ari Fleicher to help them all be on the same page publicly...so as not to blow their cover....

    Hey, that's my view.

The only way Thompson and McCarthy end up leaving Green Bay is if Murphy dies unexpectly and the Board of Directors hires a new outside, unbiased Packer President -- and not then promote Ted Thompson into the President position.   It is highly unlikely Murphy will ever quit the President job.... He will never have another one as good.

So, fans cannot fire Ted Thompson, without a h**l of a lot of signatures....like 150,000  or more to sever pressure on the organization.

He only became a faprior to hiring the replacement for himself as president

I am a local Packer fan and shareholder and a huge football fan...read everything I can find on the Packers.  Everything I said above is my opinion based on internal passion for this team and this sport.
