And if they can how can you stop them? I just don't like the idea of other people being able to see into my home. I know they can see submarines with radar but what about basements?

  1. Big Brother has many powers. But it still bleeds.

  2. No. they can't. If you are worried about someone seeing into your basement, don't do anything there that could get you in trouble.

  3. No not with radar but they can see your grow lights heat with a heat scope. Maybe it will work to line your walls with foil

  4. if  you are growing illegal substances they pick up the heat sensor . That is how they make busts

  5. Umm, they use sonar to find submarines, didn't you see "Red October"?  Radar and radio waves travel poorly through solids and liquids.

Do you understand the idea of radar?  Radar detects and ranges objects by bouncing off of them, not by passing through them.

If they could see through your home's walls using radar, cops and feds would never need confidential informants, wiretaps, search warrants or any of that stuff.

  6. No they cannot see into your basement with radar.

However,if police receive a tip about unusual activity at your house, police can use heat-sensing devices, known as thermal imaging cameras, to locate excessive heat, such as from grow lights. Using this information, they can obtain warrants for your electric bills, to see if an exorbitant amount of electricity is being used (your grow lights again).

Based on this information, they can obtain a search warrant for your basement to bust your indoor marijuana farm.
