  1. yes i run in Houston,TX and the humidity is horrible i have  better times in the winter.

  2. well when you're running it will slow you down and make you breathe a lot faster, but you should ignore it and just keep on running, then at the end drink a lot of water.

  3. Oh yes, and if it's humidity is high it will really slow you down.  Let say in perfect conditions you could run 3 miles at 6 min. pace.  I'd predict in low 90's even if your use to running in heat ...... it would slow your pace to about 6:10 to 6:15 per mile.

  4. yes! During exhaustive exercise muscles can received about 80% to 85% of your total amount of blood that your heart is pumping.  When you exercise you produce heat (obvously) This excess heat is primarly removed form your body through its transport through the blood to the skin, where it is then transfered to your body's surface where your sweat will evaporate and remove the heat. In a cool/cold enviornment there is not as much of a need to get rid of the excess heat produced. Where as in a hot enviornment there is a great need to get rid of this excess heat, therefore you body must divert a larger % of blood to the skin taking it away from your working muscles. With less blood going to the muscles their endurace capacity is decreased. Also in a hot enviornment your sweating rate will increase because of the increase in body temp, this will cause your blood to become thicker. (blood is mostly plasma which is mostely water and sweating decreases the water content of blood) This thicker blood can impede blood flow and limit oxygen transport, limited your enderence perfomrance

So bascially because your musclces will nto get all the blood they want/need and dehydration will make your time slower when you exercise in a hot enviornment. And if it is humid its just that much worse cause sweating will not work as well when compared to a hot and dry enviornment

  5. Yes, it would. However, you need to adjust your body to counter any adverse weather conditions (i.e. temperature, wind factor, humidity, etc.) Running is a sport where the weather conditions are unpredictable, and you need to be able to overcome those conditions.

  6. Definetely. Makes you want to slow down and it drains your energy. More water loss too.
