  1. YES

But the ball has to have traveled ten yards first.

  2. After it goes 10 yards it's anyones ball. Whoever gets it after it goes 10 yards gets the ball. Except on punts the recieving team must touch it first.

  3. yeah as long as it goes at least 10 yards.

  4. Yes jared n is n idiot. ten yards=live ball. another rule that most fans and players dont know that is on a FG attempt if it is no good, but lands in play it is a live ball. Like for example team "A" tries a long FG attempt and it is short and lands in the field of play or team "B" catches it in the field of play then team B can return it. It is treated just like a punt.

  5. yes as long as it goes more than 10 yards(this is only on kickoffs, on punts the receiving team must touch it first).

  6. ok to answer ur question the easy way.........yes u can as long as it goes 10 yards like most of the people are saying.

  7. ok everyone seems not to understand this rule very well. As soon as the ball goes past 10 yards its anybodys ball, so if on a kick off the kicking team boots the ball and it lands anywhere on the field and the recieving team stands around going (duh) they didnt line up for an on-side kick, the ball goes to the kicking team. No rule states that the kicking team has to make it known that an on-side kick attempt is being made, they ball is free games after it goes 10 yards or more.

    (Period)..

  8. Yes you can. Its only on punts where you have to wait for them to touch the ball. On any kick off you can get the all without the recieving team touching it.

  9. Pretty much everyone has the 10 yard thing down, but there is more.

In HS (NFHS) rules the ball must have touched the ground and gone 10 yards before the kicking team can recover.

In NCAA rules it doesn't have to touch the ground first, but if it doesn't touch the ground or something after 10 yards then it has to be caught/recovered beyond 10 yards.

In NFL, I'm not sure because I don't have a rule book from them.

Play 1) A pooch kick that goes 10+ yards in the air and is caught by a kicking team player without the ball hitting the ground.  HS - 15 yard penalty and rekick.  NCAA - legal play, kicking team's ball.

Play 2) A kick that is driven straight into the ground right off the tee then bounces 10+ yards forward and is driven straight back toward the kicking team by a strong wind.  It is recovered 5 yards from where it was kicked.  HS - Legal play, kicking team's ball.  NCAA - Illegal Touching, receiving team's ball at the spot.

  10. If the ball goes more then ten yard anybody can have the ball. It doesn't have to go more then 35 yards think that guy said five guys don't have to touch it and it doesn't have to be in the 3rd quarter with 5 minutes or less left in it.

  11. no you can't. however, you can get it back if at least 5 guys on the receiving team touch it and it goes past 35 yards. also, this only applies in the 3rd quarter with under 5 mins left in the game. thats why so many teams only perform onside kicks in the first half.
