Can the medication furan 2 kill beneficial bacteria too?

2nd question: when using melafix, do i also have to remove the carbon from my filter? the packaging said it wont disturb the biological filter anyway?

Furan is an unfamiliar medicine to treat fin rot, and it is not neccessary to remove carbon while using melafix, it doesn't even bothers it. I use stress coat + to treat fin rot and it is recommended to let the fins grow back without using any chemicals.

Chemicals will harm you fish and without chemicals, it only take about 3 days to recover fin rot anyway.
