  1. Yeah. But you have to acknowledge that all myths, if they're equally true or might as well be true, are also all equally false / might as well be false. The problem is that people who are fond of certain myths try insisting they are "literally" true.


  2. If it is expected to be consider valid it must be treated as a analogy for the purpose of demonstrating a philosophical point or postulate.

    With the possible exception of repeatable empirical evidence that challanges the foundation of modern metaphysical assumptions.

    Philosophy is the differentiation from myth, from the old ways.

  6. Sure. Our logic is not always based on truth.  truth is sometimes just what we like to believe.

  7. Thorough philosophical thought takes myths, strips away their aesthetic beauty and exposes them for the lies they are.  I think that's why, in my philosophy classes, bible thumpers couldn't compete with free thinkers in open discussion.
