This product is a home defense to prevent bugs from entering your home and kills up to one year if treated properly. You put a 2 foot barrier around your house and when insects cross that plane, they die.

  1. No for they are not completely water soluble and will stop up your sprayer..They are made to water in such as time release fertilizer granules..the watering in washe abit off the top coat to saturate the ground with it..and then thereafter they time release as you water or as it rains..they do make a sprayable concentrate to eradicate insects immediately...but apply the granulas as suggested for long term results...

  2. It is illegal to use certain household chemicals not in compliance with their label. In almost all pesticides I have seen this warning.

That said, there are multiple ways that chemicals may be time released, the most common is to coat a delivery unit in some kind of sheathing, if this is the case then the sheathing might break down and you'll be delivering several months worth of poison simultaneously. Prob not a good idea. Of course, the coating prolly also isn't wanter soluble otherwise it'd break down in the rain, making dilution into wanter not possible.

Your best bet would be to use as directed or find an alternative product that meets your specification.
