I was pregnant with twins for the third time but one of the last set did not make it. upon delivery I delivered a membrane as the final parts of the baby. Twin two is healthy and fine, thank God. But how is this possible?

  1. Fraternal twins have two of everything....sacks, umbillacal cords ect ect. One baby doesnt survive on the other baby for anything really. Identical twins are a whole other story on the other hand.

I lost a twin for my oldest also and I know how much it hurts. I'm sorry for your lost.

  2. If the twins were fraternal then they are in two different sacks to one can survive and not the other.  But if they r identical then they share one sack and more than likely they could both die.

  3. i think so because my cousin was a twin, but the other died in the womb...so yea i guess!

  4. Yes they can. I had quads and lost one while prego. the other three were fine. As long as baby two is growing strong he or she will do fine. Take it wasy and dont get stressed out. Like I said, my three are doing great. Congrats:)

  5. Didn't your doctor explain this to you?  You should talk with your doctor.
