Can the oxygen level in a tank cause a goldfish not to eat?

  1. Possibility, if the fish is not getting enough oxygen they will become very lethargic, and unhealthy, eventually it will suffocate. If you think you need more oxygen, get another air stone, or a more powerful one with a more powerful air pump. Is he gasping? Could be temperature as well. Make sure the temp is low enough for comfort.


  2. yes it can- it can be one of the main factors towards it not eating- if the oxygen levels arent right it wont really do much other than try to get more air

  3. no my goldfish seems fine when i turn on the air pump...its probably bc of the heat
