I know that in normal cases, if a child is born here, after 18 years of age, the parents can attain citizenship. If a baby is given birth to but its dead[was dead in the stomach], can the parents still get the citizenship? or is it a different case?.. does anyone have any helpful websites or anything that can give me information on this topic?

  1. eerrmm.....No i dont think so.........

It is a totally different case!

  2. Citizenship for the parents 18?  Not in the United States.

  3. If you are talking about US Citizenship, there is no automatic citizenship granted for the parents of US born citizen child. Once the child becomes the age of 21, child can petition parents for the green card with the proof of that child will be responsible of the parents financially. After 5 years of being Parmenent Residents, the parents are eligible to apply for US Citizenship.

So whether a baby was born alive or dead, the parents don't get US citizenship automatically.

  4. A dead person (or a stillborn child) cannot petition for citizenship on your behalf, nor can someone fill out and petition for that citizenship as a representative of that dead person.

  5. With or without a live anchor baby, the parents cannot gain citizenship if they are illegally in this country.  The 21 year old citizen child would petition the parents while the parents are living in their own country.  The child must be able to prove financial responsibility for both of them.
