Can the passenger airbag be turned off in a bmw318i?

Hi,in most cases you have to fit a new seat belt without a tensioner,and sign a disclaimer at the dealers and after reprogramming car,be presented with a huge invoice for your trouble.I would suggest fitting an additional rear view mirror(suction type) and focusing it on the back seat along with the kiddie!!!!! - hope this helps - mike

I am sure you can but why would you want to do that.

Take the car to a garage and they will sort it out for you.

locate the airbag fuse and remove

Not unless it's a very new one, in which case they can have the passenger airbag disabled via plug in diagnostics.

I assume you want to put a child seat in the front, overall it's easier to put the child seat in the back.

If you still want to turn off the airbag it will be in the handbook if you can do it. Otherwise ask at the dealer.

DO NOT TAKE THE FUSE OUT this will possible dissable both airbags, and is not a method I would trust anyway.
