I have always wondered this, it seems that sometimes they can and sometimes they can't, but I know Brian can, as well as other babies.

  1. Sometimes Lois answers Stewie, but it's always "oh Stewie, that's so cute" kind of comments. She definitely doesn't take his threats seriously. They're the kind of parents that just barely listen to their kids and occasionally say, "oh, that's nice dear."

  2. They can hear and understand him, but they think it's just baby-talk and don't take him seriously.

  3. Yes this has been a question on everyone's mind

    my own also

Yes they do understand him sometimes and sometimes they dont

which means that basically they do

it is like a massive ongoing goof. the writers made a mistake forever and its too late to fix

there even is like a joke made about it in one of the episodes... at the end of

outerspace students are sitting in a class watching the tv whiich had the credits rolling (meaning they were watching that episode) and the teacher said "any questions ?" and i student goes yes so whats the deal can they understand the baby or not

  4. YES FINALLY A REAL QUESTION!! I BEEN WONDERING THIS FOR THE LONGEST!!

  5. I'm watching it now.

In some episodes Peter and Lois acknowledge him. Other times they act as if they can't understand him.

Chris, Meg and Brian always understand him though.

  6. i don't think so, only brian, lol, thats a good question!

  7. Ya they can. They just see him as a normal baby though.

  8. yes, they can understand him, and so can the dog.

  9. yes i agree with tom j answer!

  10. Yes Brian can and other babies. I dont believe any grown ups can. Sometimes they respond to him, but if you just visual Stewie as going "WAAH WAH" instead of talking, it makes sense still.
