Question:

Can the post office hold something i am ordering?

I am ordering a camcorder for my father for his birthday. The only problem is that i live in the same house as him and i dont want him to see it when it comes in the mail from the post office!

Sooooo...does anyone know if i can have the post office hold it for pickup?

  1. I think they will hold something for you if you ask them ahead of time, but I wouldn't swear by it.  I just know that we had several things held for us, but we are living on a military base, so it may be different.


  2. Call 1-800-ASK-USPS. It will prompt you to your local PO where they can pass a message to your carrier. They can flag the package and hold it at the station. If they're going to be ***** about it, try talking to your carrier ASAP and explain circumstances. The carriers are usually understanding and will do it.

  3. why not send it to a friends house or a family member that way your father won't find out....also you can talk to the post office like the other member advised you.
