  1. Jason Bay is a good ballplayer and will be better in the future than Manny. The Red Sox will be fine.

  2. Yeah, of course the Red Sox could survive without Manny.  As a matter of fact, it actually might be better because there won't be any complaints from anyone.

  3. the red sox will win the al east . iam a yankee fan and i never thought i would concede this early but jason bay will help. the sox are still strong without manny.

  4. Not this year.  Bay's numbers in the clutch are horrible!  Manny's on the other hand were pretty remarkable.  I don't think it is going to happen for them this year, especially if Bay isn't the Yankee killer that Manny was.  You still have to go through the Yankees and the Rays, and, last I checked, they are much more solid teams than the Red Sox are this year.

  5. Bay is good. But put it this way, Manny will be in the Hall of Fame and Bay wont. Thats the difference between them. Pretty big difference.

  6. ***************YANKEES******************...

  7. I've always been a Bay fan and I think that his move to the Red Sox will be mutally benefical. While it's true he most-likely will not be going to the HOF, as Ramirez is, he is a good, fundamentally-sound player, as Ramirez most-definitely isn't. He will provide a huge upgrade defensively over Ramirez without losing offensive production.

I'm really sorry to see him go to Boston because I was looking forward to them falling flat on their collective face this postseason. With Bay in the lineup that's a little less-likely to happen.

  8. of course they can, jason bay is young and has a strong arm, also he has a great 22 home runs this season

  9. they can bay is still good he WILL NEVER BE MANNY though

  10. Seems like it because even with Manny they weren't any good (this year) and so they won't survive even with Manny. Jason Bay is a good hitter and fielder but he can't lead the team to the playoffs. I'm thinking that is David Ortiz can pull through they can make a chance in second or first place depending on how the Rays are doing.

  11. We will de just fine without Manny. His antics and bad publicity made it hard to concentrate on the game. We can now focus on the rest of the season.

    Go Red Sox

  12. I hope not!!

  13. ABSOLUTELY!

  14. they can. they still have j.d drew, ortiz, pedroia, youkilis.... plus Bay who hit more HR's than Manny the last two years. they still got really good offense.

  15. Jason Bay will be better offensively and defensively than Manny. He's a good pick-up by the Sox. They'll forget Manny before long.

  16. Jason Bay is a solid player and will fit in nicely with the team and fans.  He has many good years ahead of him and I believe you will see the Red Sox continuing to win games without a major fall off.

  17. Obviously the Red Sox won't accomplish as much without him,but I do believe that they might be able to still get the job done. But I don't think they can win their division because he's a huge part of the team's offense and is such a power hitter.I still don't understand this trade because there are many teams, such as the Dodgers, who were maybe only a power hitting veteran away from a pennant or a World Series title. As long as the "Manny being Manny" stuff gets toned down in Hollywood.

  18. Yes they can they just wont be as dominant in the A.L.

Jason Bay will fill in a good part of Manny's role but wont be as good as a hitter as he was.

  19. they will survive and flourish

  20. of course they, ANY team can survive without one player, ...

it takes more than ONE player to make ANY team~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
