can the ruger mini 14 rifle have that funky long factory flash hider/compensator thingy ???? I want to buy 1 in CA but the seller mentioned the flash hider thingy and so I am asking you guys before purchase. ???? thanks in advance to all who help

If you are talking about the Mini-14 Target Rifle, the device on the end of the barrel is a harmonic dampener, and is perfectly legal in California.  What you can't have is the thumb hole stock, so you have to buy the one with the Hogue OverMolded stock to comply with California law.  If you are considering buying a new one Ruger supplies a model that is compliant with California law.  If you are buying a used rifle you will need to make sure that the transfer is accomplished through a licensed dealer.


  2. Its called a flash suppressor and look for a copy of Gun Laws of the 50 States. That should help you out there.
