Can the sargeant override a police officers ticket? What is possible? I am dumb on this subject: (

  1. The one that can override a ticket is the judge, Prove it in court, I did.


  2. In the 70's and 80' yes but with today's system of tickets it would not happen because the person that did this could lose his or her job.................

  3. no...the sargeant is only a supervisor to the officer.  I am not a cop at all nor do i condone them but...all a law enforcement officer is, is someone who gets paid to do what every single american has the right and obligation to do and that is to watch for others committing crimes and turn them into the courts.  Once a cop gives you a ticket it is because he believes he has caught you breaking a law.  That is his job, not to make you pay the ticket, and its not the sargeants job either.  The only real person who can override a ticket is a judge.  All a traffic ticket is, is a notice to appear in court so that you can defend yourself against the allegations that you are guilty of breaking a law.  You have the right to a jury trial in every single case.  Paying the ticket is a way of pleading guilty without going to court.
