  1. No.......... my idea of truth is that it should not be situation or instance specific...... it MUST have a more general applicability and longer life.... otherwise the truth would be no different than an isolated fact which could be an aberration rather than the truth.

  2. Yes! But only as far as relative truth is concerned. Even Biblical history involves dispensational truth.

  3. No.....because a situation is only a perception, and different people will look at a situation differently, based on his perception of it; and truth can be stretched or twisted or reversed to one's advantage (ask any lawyer!).

  4. Vague question.  Of course, any situation can be a basis to justify any truth in one's mind.  Will that truth be agreed upon?  Maybe.

  5. Situation can be the basis for rationalizing truth -- If you are looking at the situation from only one perspective.

If you look at the situation from all its various points of view you will find variations to what you thought was the ultimate truth.

  6. Situation is about phenomena. It is a result of truth but not the truth itself. Hence brave one can use their fear to motivate themselves to overcome the situation.

  7. I'm not sure if this it totally relevant to your question... but it might help a bit.

It's a bit like Situation Ethics. Which basically says that the best thing to do or the best way for you to act should be based on 'agape' (Like unconditional love). Doing the most loving thing possible in any given situation. These ideas were put forward predominantly by a philosopher Joseph Fletcher.

A choice should be based on practicality, relativism and consider all the people involved.

However, everyone has different ways of reasoning and different perceptions on what is loving, and therefore their actions may not be justified - situation ethics is subjective.

I don't know if that helps what so ever... but it makes me feel better to remember some of my A level stuff.
