actually it can if its sitting out on a really hot day.

it happend to my father it was sitting out on the patio and the sun was hot it was like 100* and we smelt smoke .. and it was on fire xD

Depending on its location it can catch on fire.  No accurate tests were proven though that it could.  Just be weary of where you put it.
