Can the system {4x + 6y= 6

{16x - 9y=5

be solved more easily by using the

substitution method or the addition method?

  1. Given that 16 is a multiple of 4, I'd say the addition method.  You could use substitution, but you'd have a bunch of fractions to deal with.
