Can the tail lights from a 90 or 91 Prelude fit an 89 Prelude?

Yes, they absolutely will fit. The lights are interchangeable. You will however also need to get the center light bar that goes with the 91 headlights as they are a different size than your 89 lights. This isn't a hard thing to do, and a lot of people make this change for the more attractive 90-91 lights.

They will fit but if you want to do it right you have to cut out the back peice of the trunk of a 90-91 and weld it into yours because the bolt holes wont line up. you also have to get a 90-91 trunk lid

From what i remember from some members (i'm in Honda Prelude club) the 88-89 tail lights are different from the 90-91 tail lights. So without modifying the body, no they will not fit. So you have to find some tail lights that are specifically for an 89 prelude.
