Can the test be positive or negative?

I am currently 7 days late from my peroid. I took 2 urine test and the positive line was real light but noticable on both. Can this be a false reading? Has this happened to anyone?

If you read it within the time limit written on the box, it was a positive, no matter how faint.  CONGRATULATIONS!

If you read the test within the correct time as it says on the box (for most tests that's between 5-10 minutes after taking the test), and if the line has color, then it's positive.

Some tests have evaporation lines, which can be mistaken as false positive. Usually evaporation lines come up if you wait too long before reading the test. Evaporation lines have no color - they are just grey. Tests that use blue dye are more prone to give evaporation lines.

I've tested multiple times, and I noticed, how the line gets darker and darker with each next day.

Any line, even a faint line, is positive!!!! False positives are very very rare.

Oooooh Congrats your pregnant!  The lines are showing light right now because the hcg in your body is really low, new pregnancy.  If you took them again in a few weeks you will see darker lines.  I don't think you will ever see a line as dark as the control line even at 8 months pregnant.

When I got pregnant with my son I used both the Clearblue Easy and the First Response tests, both came out very faint.  But if you want to be totally sure for yourself, go get a Clearblue Easy Digital, that will just say Pregnant or Not Pregnant.  Good luck with your pregnancy!

Yay For You!!!! Congrats! If your read the lines no longer than 10 minutes after taking the test then your are pregnant, no matter if the line is barley noticeable/ practically invisible it means your pregnant! Awesome for you!
